Staying Hydrated and Nourished

Week 3: Hydration and Nutrition

You've made it to Week 3! Let's focus on hydration and nutrition this week.

What to Expect:

  • Continued adjustment to your medication

  • Importance of hydration and balanced electrolytes.

Symptom Management:

  • Hydration: Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily, and include an electrolyte drink packet in at least one of your water servings!

  • Electrolytes: Include electrolyte-rich foods like bananas, avocados, and spinach.

  • Supplement when needed: Refer to last week’s blog about Electrolytes for more information!

Lifestyle Changes:

  • Protein Intake: Prioritize protein in every meal (chicken, tofu, legumes).

  • Healthy Recipes: Experiment with new, wholesome recipes to keep your meals interesting and nutritious.

Recipe Suggestions:

Food Journal: Continue journaling about your meals and note your energy levels. Prompt: “How does your energy level change after different meals? Note any patterns.”

Exercise:

Mindfulness:

  • Walking: Walk for 30 minutes daily.

  • Beginner Yoga: Try a beginner yoga routine for flexibility and strength.

  • Body Scan Meditation: Practice a 5-minute body scan meditation daily. Lie down or sit comfortably, and slowly bring your attention to different body parts, noticing any sensations or areas of tension.
